Vientiane Province Technical College logo

Vientiane Provincial Technical College (VPTC) was established in 1986 by the merging of the School of Government Staff Development and the Vocational Technical School. The college is located in Viengkham District in Vientiane Province and has been under the administration of Vientiane Provincial Governor’s Office. The college was renamed to Vientiane Province Technical School in 1998 and only offered five programmes at diploma level.

The school upgraded to be a technical college in 2010 and received technical guidance and support directly from the Department of TVET of the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES). The school has now opened a second campus in Vangvieng, where the programmes business administration and hospitality will be offered soon. Currently, the college offers around 20 trades or professions including two DCT programmes in farmer and automotive. There are plans to offer another DCT programme at level 3 in garment end-line and in-line quality control. The college has been cooperating with more than 70 companies and farms to support the practical training of the students.
