About The Course

Students learn about the work on a commercial farm, operate and maintain farm equipment, produce animals and plants. Emphasis is on practical training in a farm.

Trainees are instructed in basic and intermediate farm operations carrying out work in the context of commercial farms. They learn how to care for and breed livestock and poultry, prepare soil, plant, fertilize and harvest field crops and forage. Training includes market animal and plant products with focus on pre-processing, preserve, store, move and market animals and plants produce. An introduction to farm management operations is part of the practical training as well.

Graduates of this program often enter in various positions in commercial farms and plantations or developing the production of the own parental farm.

Potential job positions may include:

  • Working in livestock farms (incl. aquaculture) as farm worker with multiple/advanced responsibilities.
  • Working in crop farms as farm worker with multiple/advanced responsibilities.
  • Working in plantations as farm worker with multiple/advanced responsibilities.
  • Working in agricultural enterprises in various farm units, as leader/supervisor of small teams.
  • Developing the production of the own parental farm.
  • Starting a small farm production unit.
